Alumni Member Launches Business at the Point! |
|
Michelle Coakley a member of the NFTE Alumni has just launched her business at The Point Village Market in Dublin. Michelle started her business in 2008 through the NFTE programme. Mishy K Productions is an earth friendly fashion company producing hand crafted jewellery made from recycled material. Michelle got involved through her school, St. Dominics in Ballyfermot.
After winning the prestigous NFTE International Student or the Year Award in 2009 (which included an all expenses paid trip to New York), Michelle decided to continue with her business through the NFTE Alumni programme as she studied for her leaving certificate this year. She has now expanded her trading beyond the school gates and her community in Ballyfermot and has secured a stall at the Point Market Village, which is already a huge hit, earning the young entrepreneur over €300 in just two days.
Michelle said; “the experience was fantastic! I’m really looking forward to keeping the stall going and plan to sell my handcrafted jewellery made from recycled materials as well as my new wire sculptures.”
Michelle will be trading this weekend Sat 14th and Sunday 15th at the Point Village Market . Her goods range in price from €5 to €15 and she intends to donate 15% of her profits to Our Lady’s Hospice in Harolds Cross.
